"Yeah, so I strongly support renewable energy, and we have made great strides in New York State with with bringing the cost down and increasing our supply of renewable energy. I did meet with the with the residence of the area who are so concerned about this project. I’ve talked to the public service commission And and really followed up on this issue. There is no proposal yet and so it is hard to advocate in a specific terms for what that would look like I have pushed very hard that it be not be disrupting for example businesses Maple farm or they’re very worried that it will bisect their operations and not bring down peoples property value so we’re in conversation to make sure that those kinds of issues if a proposal is put in for that specific product and it hasn’t been yet if a proposal is put in to make sure that the public service commission is really taking into account but very specific and very legitimate concerns of people in that area."
Please see the linked letter sent to Governor Hochul and Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Electric Transmission (ORES) by Congressman Brandon Williams and Assemblyman John Lemondes. This is a tremendous first step, marking the first time a sitting public official has openly supported our mission.
We want to clarify that there might be a misunderstanding regarding Palmer’s property ownership. To our knowledge, they have not purchased any property but instead hold leases on land.
We are truly grateful to Assemblyman John Lemondes and Congressman Brandon Williams for standing with us and amplifying our voices. Their support is invaluable as we continue to advocate for our community!
“I stand with our local communities in opposing the Palmer Capital Maple Harvest wind project. This initiative threatens our environment, jeopardizes water quality, and disrupts the scenic beauty of Tully Valley. Local voices must be prioritized – communities have the right to shape their own future. I urge Governor Hochul to heed our concerns and halt this project” said Assemblymember John Lemondes, District 126
